We had trip in the washes on sunday with Peter and Ben, Peter had never fished the washes before , so it was to be something new for him. The mid afternoon low tide was not ideal, and the lack of wash was a little bit of a challenge, but the overcast conditions balanced it out a little. After moving around a bit, we found a wash running left to right with a fairly strong sweep.
It started with a few smaller Black Drummer around the 1.5kg mark, then culminated in this thumper here of Pete’s which was released …. he’s converted 🙂
A bruiser of a Blue Groper of 10kg+ was dropped boatside to much disappointment.
So the washes are still fishing well , with Blacks of this size common and bigger fish to 4kg + still to be had , showing no sign of slowing up.
